The Divertor Refurbishment Platform

The full scale Divertor Refurbishment Platform, located at the ENEA Brasimone Research Centre, permits to carry put all relevant experiments pertaining to the ex-vessel ITER divertor (hot cell) refurbishment operations.

It includes the following sub-systems :

All mock-ups are made of steel with main dimensions, assembly tolerances (and for the PFC also mass distribution and structural characteristics) as close as possible to those of the real components. The most relevant RH interfaces (target to cassette locking key and key-ways) which have a strong impact on the feasibility of the operations, are made with the same materials foreseen for the real components (e.g. special nickel alloys).
